We're growing our client base quickly and need someone that will work coding applications in Perl, PHP, Python, and other various languages based on the client requirements. Management and administration of web servers also important. Knowledge of Debian/GNU Linux preferred, but any Linux distribution knowledge is fine.

Job Description:

Primary responsibilities include writing Perl/mod_perl and PHP applications that interface with various vendor provided modules. Secondary responsibilities require on-call, on-site support at our data center.

Job Duties require:

Programming utilizing DBI/DBD Interface, vendor supplied modules and internally developed modules
Service Call/Trouble Ticket Resolution
Customer Service via Telephone and ICQ
Minor PC Maintenance ability
Ability to remove and maintain Rack Mounted Servers
Reasonable knowledge of MySQL
Basic System Administration knowledge of a Linux System

Desired Job Skills:

Debian Packaging
Kernel compiling/packaging
Working with patches

Job Hours:

5 day work-week, Staggered to give one weekend off every other weekend, Flex-time 8 hours per day plus 24/5 on-call work. (Work Schedule) Saturday/Sunday Coverage is a must, on-call response time should be under 30 minutes to 50 NW 8th Street, Miami, Florida. Most on-call work can be handled remotely, but occasionally a site visit is required.

This is a work at home position. You should have high-speed internet access at your home, a cell phone that accepts incoming SMS messages, and your own transportation. You will have to visit the data center from time to time to repair problems that cannot be fixed remotely.

All of our machines are IDE or SCSI Rackmounted servers, but sometimes require a little TLC.
